Police in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, have filed an FIR against yoga teacher Ramdev for allegedly distributing "false" information regarding the drugs used by the medical community to treat Covid-19, according to a police official.
According to Raipur's Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav, the case was filed against Ramkrishna Yadav aka Baba Ramdev on Wednesday night, based on a complaint filed by the Chhattisgarh unit of the Indian Medical Association (IMA). Ramdev has been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 188 (disobedience to a duly promulgated order), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and others, as well as the Disaster Management Act, 2005, he said.
