Swami Ramdev (born Ram Kisan Yadav in 1965) is an Indian Hindu spiritual leader who is best known for popularising Yoga and Ayurveda. Ramdev has been organizing and leading major yoga camps since 2002, and his yoga lessons have been broadcast on numerous television channels. With his colleague Balkrishna, he co-founded Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. He declared in 2010 that he would create a political party for the 2014 General Election. He has recently been an outspoken supporter of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
